CENTRE FOR AIR POWER STUDIES

Royal Air Force Centre for Air Power Studies (RAF CAPS)

3 August 2010: Lord Trenchard Memorial Lecture 2010: "Air, Space and Cyber Power: Strategic Choice and Operational Necessity" to be given by Air Chief Marshal Simon Bryant at 1300 on 16 Sep 2010.  RUSI, Whitehall, London, SW1A 2ET

The UK Secretary of State for Defence has stated that the ultimate purpose of the Armed Forces is to provide options and choices to decision makers. This lecture will make the case that air, space and cyber power is uniquely well placed to meet this aspiration. In his lecture, Air Chief Marshal Bryant will explore the contribution that a ‘full-service’ air force might make to delivery. He will consider how these capabilities could provide options for deterring conflict at the strategic level and, when necessary, act as a key component in the delivery of lethal force at the operational level.
